The old Depropanizer of the Organic Synthesis Factory of Jilin Chemical Industrial Corp. was a valve tray column. Before revamping, it can operate at no more than 60% capacity of design because the downcomer was flooding. In Oct. 1997, it was revamped with JCPT tray by our Tianjin Corp. When the trays were changed in the revamping, only the old trays were replaced by Jet Coflow Packing Trays nothing else were changed. The support rings, downcomers, weirs, clearance under downcomer were remained as the same. After revamping, the column efficiency was increased and the capacity was increased to 120% of the design (for the pumps and other reasons, the upper operating limit not reached).
